Mike McKenna, soon to be inductee into Canada South Blues Society in October of 2013, has enjoyed 50 years as a guitarist. He is known largely for his unique McKenna electric slide guitar style as well as his bands, Luke and The Apostles of the 1960's Yorkville period and McKenna Mendelson Mainline and the Stink Album. HIs career has come full circle with packed venues of elated fans coming out to hear this music from these two bands again. McKenna is also performing his music from other bands including Mike McKenna and Slidewinder, Diamondback 1974, McKenna Gibson Band as well as writing new material soon to be recorded and released in 2014, one an acoustic slide cd. McKenna has played with a number of noteable groups, The Ugly Ducklings, Downchild Blues Band , The Guess Who and Diamondback.
