So we have just arrived back from the Feast of St Bernadetto in Taggia, Italy - 23 & 24 Feb 2008) - here are some still of the weekends procedings. Canelli 2007 - Around June 16th in 1613 the Italian town of Canelli was besieged by the State of Genoa. After two days the Genoese managed to enter the town gates and set about slaughtering the militia. However, the townspeople took up arms, turned on their attackers and drove them form the town. In gratitude the Duke granted the people a 30 year tax holiday. Each year Canelli celebrate this historic moment and the Society of the Open Rope (English mercenaries) and the Goupo Storico di Novi Liguri joint up to attack. This is the 9th year the Open Rope has been invited to participate and here are some videos we shot over the weekend in June 2007.
