Composer, teacher and conductor William Fletcher holds degrees in Choral Music Education and in Music Theory from the University of New Hampshire. He has recently retired, after 37 years, from St. Paul’s School, where he was choirmaster and taught voice, composition and music theory. Additionally. he has taught public schools in both Weston, Ct. and Horseheads, N.Y.
He is a frequent adjudicator and guest conductor of music festivals, including the 1987 and 1990 N.H. Jazz All-State Choirs. He served as music director of the Concord Chorale and was the pandorist with The Goodmorrow Consort, a group which performed Elizabethan music on period instruments.
He has conducted premieres of works by Michael Annicchiarico, Gwyneth Walker, Augusta Read Thomas, Robert Powell, Marilyn Ziffrin, Petr Reznícek and Henryk Górecki among others.
