For the past 10 years we have decorated our home for the Christmas season. Each year we have tried to add a few new twists to the display. We went computerized about 8 years ago with the ability to control 6 banks of lights. A few years later we moved up to 32 channels and built a 15 foot tree with 5,000 lights. We also added a singing Santa face that year. We then moved to 96 channels to control our lights. We also added a face to the now 16 foot tall tree so it can sing along with some of our songs. 2011 we improved the Santa face and moved him over the garage and added Rudy the singing Reindeer and Mrs. Claus to help sing a few songs. And each year we have slowly moved to more LED lights. 2013 we added RGB LED lights to our display and it effectively added another 900 channels to our display, bringing us to just under 1000 channels. This year we added 7 mini trees on the south side of the yard that added about 2,800 lights to the display.
