Backa Niang is a singer and drummer from Senegal, West Africa. He was born into a griot family in and has been singing and drumming his whole life. He has been a part of the Senegalese hip-hop group Gokh-Bi System for over ten years and has also recently launched his solo career. He is the lead singer of an NYC based mbalax dance band called Teranga. He can also be seen participating in drumming and dancing workshops and conferences around the US and promotes West African culture wherever he goes. Enjoy watching his videos!
