Virgil Donati was giving a workshop in Rome in 2002; when asked about his favourites among the new generation of drummers, he answered: "I've seen Pier Paolo playing yesterday night and he's my favourite one in Italy. He and Walter Calloni". Interviewed by "Percussioni" magazine in January 2000, Gary Chaffee says about Ferroni: "Pier Paolo has devoted his whole life to become a skillful musician". Pier Paolo Ferroni is one of the new "monsters" of the world drumming scene and I strongly believe Europeans should be proud that one of "our" drummers is consider as skillful as (if not better than) several American big names.
