"Subject to" offers a series of informal conversations with relevant figures in the fields of Operations Research, Combinatorial Optimization and Logistics, and they are hosted by Anand Subramanian, an Associate Professor at Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB), Brazil. About the host: Anand was born and raised in João Pessoa, Brazil. His parents are Indian immigrants who moved to Brazil in the early 1970s to work at UFPB after a 7-year period in Canada. He speaks Portuguese, English, Spanish and understands Tamil. He is passionate about rock music, and (poorly) plays multiple instruments like guitar, ukulele and piano. He also has a great interest in sports, loves to learn about miscellaneous history, and has visited 29 countries. He holds a PhD in Computing from UFF. Anand is an author of more than 70 articles published in prestigious international journals and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Computers & Operations Research and INFORMS Magazines.
