With a voice that melds the ethereal with the powerful, CEF's art comes from a deep place rooted in his ancestry. Constantly exploring and experimenting with sounds, sonics and melodies weaved with love and consciousness, he recreates beautiful music that is easy on the ears and heavy on the mind. Born and raised in Abuja, Nigeria, CEF Ashanta is an innovative artist; singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His music is heavily influenced by Folklore, Ogene, Highlife, Afrobeat, Soul, Reggae and Jazz; it embraces fusions, blending root rhythms with universal melodies, recognizing the spiritual essence of music. His career took off with the release of the first album called David Stones, released in 2017, presenting eleven songs. In his last project, Jide-Ofor, released in 2022, he explored a lot of rhythmic styling from the Ogene music soundscape and blended it with his unique songwriting and vocal style.
