Music has been a key discipline at the University for over 140 years - since the first Certificate in Music was awarded in 1874. The Bachelor of Music program provides students with experience in performance, theory, and music history, as well as a sound basis in the liberal arts. The program stresses professional training, with an emphasis on musical performance, including advanced private lessons in piano, voice, strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, guitar, harpsichord, and organ.
