Mission for the Missing is a non-profit organization created to locate missing children and adults. Mission provides logistical support, funding, equipment and trained search and rescue professionals to families of missing persons, both children and adults. At a time when many state and local law enforcement agencies are experiencing deep budget cuts, Mission augments increasingly limited public sector resources to ensure timely, effective responses in a case, especially in the critical hours after a person goes missing. All of Mission's services are provided on a pro bono basis whether to families or law enforcement. Created in 2009, Mission for the Missing is funded with private dollars and contributions from the public. The program works independently or in conjunction with law enforcement with the single mission of bringing loved ones home.
