Hi and welcome to Route 64.
The name comes from National Cycle Route 64, which runs through Newark on Trent. In a few places it crosses the railway, and that’s how this started. I’d be out on my bike, a train would fly past, and I had to film it.
Now it’s a habit. If I’m cycling and a train appears, I press record. When I travel, I take my GoPro or just my phone and capture railway memories, from the National Railway Museum in York to the London Transport Museum.
In spring 2026 I’m also visiting the National Tramway Museum in Crich.
I upload mostly in the evenings and try to stay consistent.
My home stations are Newark Northgate and Newark Castle. Catching legends like Flying Scotsman or Sir Nigel Gresley there never gets old.
If you enjoy real trackside action and railway trips around the UK, subscribe and join the journey.
All the best.
