Yes, the fine folks at Western Heritage Furniture do happen to create handcrafted, one-of-a kind, artisan furniture from the reclaimed wood of historic buildings found all around the United States. We've been building furniture in Jerome's historical Mingus Union High School gym for over two decades and have gained international attention. That, in and of itself, should be enough to make our jobs satisfying.
After all, what more could we ask for as furniture builders? What more could you ask for as a customer? What more could you possibly say about a square cocktail table? At least that's what we thought until one day someone asked, "Hey, where did this wood come from?"
Well, it sure doesn't grow on trees, at least not anymore. The reclaimed wood that we use originated from stands of old growth forests (trees that take 200 to 400 years to mature) Most of these forest are now gone forever largely due to extensive logging practices.
