ALREADY NOW, BLUFF IS PART OF OUR FUTURE - none other than Nils Landgren proclaimed about three years ago. At that point, the Hamburg-based quartet had already established itself as a force to be reckoned with in its north German surroundings. Sculpting their music with strong inspirations from across the Atlantic, BLUFF has created a signature sound, ranging from Jarrett-like rubato ballads to dynamic Wilkins-esque power pieces. The four musicians know each other like the backs of their hands, creating a trusting, synergetic unit of a band. ​​​​ Over the past five years, BLUFF has toured Germany extensively, including shows at the renowned ELBJAZZ and JazzBaltica Festivals as well as stints in Austria and Switzerland. Their compositions are melodic and contoured, inviting the band to navigate winding forms as if on skates - challenging, yet all the more thrilling. The result is dynamic, sophisticated, ear candy.
