CETAPS and the Utopian Studies Society/Europe will be organising, in 2016, on a global scale, the Commemorative Programme of the 500th anniversary of the publication of Thomas More’s Utopia. The Conference will be hosted by the University of Lisbon in Portugal, 6-10 July, 2016 and many other activities and events will be organised over the year.
Sounds of Utopia is a strand of the project solely devoted to music - a universal language that is understood by everyone and is capable of promoting solidarity, cultural identity and building bridges between people. This is an open call for all music enthusiasts, both professional and amateur, to contribute to the creation of a worldwide polyphonic utopian sound.
