Genuine Leather is the moniker of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, Chris Galis. Birthed in Austin, TX in 2011, Genuine Leather served as a creative outlet while Galis was writing, playing, and performing in other projects. After some blog buzz around the scrappy single, “The Viper,” a band formed to perform the songs live, and Galis’ priorities shifted to focusing solely on writing and creating music under the name Genuine Leather.
Genuine Leather is the culmination of over a decade of songwriting and home recording from lead singer/songwriter Chris Galis. With 2 full-length LPs, 3 EPs, and several singles (and an official retrospective cassette under their belt) they are wrapping up their latest EP, Genuine Pleasure, for release in 2023.
