A versatile singer and upcoming music composer who has composed music for the internationally acclaimed movie 'I am Kalam', composed and sung in three released music albums and who is the lead singer of an Indi -- Fusion Band.
Winner of the first ever nationwide talent hunt -- 'Startrack -- of Amitabh Bacchan Corp. Ltd, Madhuparna is a trained Hindustani Classical performer, who has been featured by Pancham Nishad as a rising star of Hindustani Classical Music.
Her musical journey began as a child prodigy at the age of 6 when she started singing on All India Radio, in Assam followed by many wins in inter-district championship in the state. She moved to Mumbai in 1991 and started her training with Ustad Dilshad Khan . Her performances in Classical and Semi Classical music got her awards in the most coveted inter-collegiate festivals such as Malhar, Mood Indigo and the 'Best Singer' award from Mithibai College.
