Hot Club Gent is a intimate jazz speakeasy ‘hidden’ at the end of a narrow alley in the center of Ghent. It consists of the café itself (where silence is requested during the performances), a small upper floor and a cozy (heated) talking terrace. With more than 200 -free- live performances per year, it is considered one of the most renowned small clubs in Belgium, where every form of jazz (from traditional to free) can be heard. Hot Club Gent can also pride itself on its drink menu with a vast selection of Belgian beers and an extensive selection of alcohol free drinks. The clientele consists of a balanced mix of music lovers, students and tourists and all ages are more than welcome. Hot Club Gent is open every day from 3 pm. Hot Club de Gand was founded in 2005 by David De Rudder and musician Waso De Cauter. In 2015, when David passed away, Waso continued with Peter Kinna (who was the manager for already 7 years). The name changed and Hot Club Gent was (re)born in 2016.
