From the foothills of the North Georgia mountains, to the flatlands of the Georgia Southern low country, to Nashville, TN and back, for 25 years, Jake Cheek has been writing and singing music. His original songs are of mixed influence from his faith in the Lord, and artists such as Merle Haggard, Charlie Daniels, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Alan Jackson. His records are mostly simple acoustic recordings of his original songs. Playing style is a mixture of finger picking and strumming of simple chord structures on a Martin. Vocally, his deep bass and high notes with a slightly raspy southern drawl may remind one of an artist from the mid-1900s. Ultimately, his goal in music, and life, is to give his all for his family, and to reach as many people as possible with the gospel of Jesus Christ. His songs are Americana/folk, but often, you’ll find references to his faith in his original songs. Mandolinist Blake Young, joins onstage for live shows and in studio recordings.
