The trio OTHALA emerged from a combination of different musical experiences. The band’s collaborative sound is created by interwoven harmonies of electronic music, intuitive flute sounds and subtle rhythmic elements. Andrejs Eigus is a composer and music producer who combines nature’s audible abundance, acoustic instruments and electronic music. Flutist Alisa Klimanska, meanwhile, draws inspiration from oriental music and modern avant-garde, creating her own unique style of playing. Drummer and percussionist Kaspars Kurdeko joined the band in 2020, and his signature sound reflects the influence of various musical and artistic styles, infused with energy, precision, and sensitivity. Each OTHALA concert is an inimitable improvisation. Indulging in musical impulses and thoughtful collaboration while improvising, the musicians have found their unique flow of sound, which they continue to improve during each performance.
