KALIFILMPRODUCTIONS formed by London based fashion and portrait photographer Kay Wahlig in late 2008 as an experimental video production platform.
Exploring a new created genre called the New Urban Film Noir.
A visual style influenced by German Expressionist Movement of early 1920 and 1930
An opportunity or medium, to step out of the controlled high gloss fashion world. No lavish budgets and simple editing. A kind of psychological dislocation and exploration of mental states with its power to disorient and the ability to evoke and sustain a sense of mystery and suspense in viewers. Characterized by streams of images with no obvious constructed order, non-narrative experimental avant-garde, sometimes with surrealist fragments, embracing artistic control over the uncontrolled urban placement of light, scenery, motion and music.
