UNIT were a 4-piece explosion of groove-based phatronic excitement. Originating from Melbourne Australia, the band formed in 1999 as a three-piece - Adrian McPhee (bass &vocals), Leigh Davies (guitar & backing vocals) and Serge Taranto (drums & megaphone). In late 2001 the lineup expanded with the addition of Cameron McPhee on keyboards, guitar & backing vocals. UNIT developed a unique sound that was continually evolving, often leaving unprepared punters dumbfounded. The highly successful 2001 EP 'Money Shot' received high levels of airplay with stations such as Nova 100, JJJ, MMM and 3PBS all getting behind the release. High demand of this debut EP secured a fulfillment contract and remaining copies are scarce. UNIT were found playing Melbourne venues such as the Esplanade Hotel, The Evelyn, The Tote, The Hallam, Revolver Upstairs, Club Evolution, The Saloon Bar, The Armadale and more.
