Gliiico is Kio, Kai and Nico de Torres - a band of three brothers based out of Tokyo, Japan. Formed out of quarantine boredom, the boys started in 2021, drawing from an eclectic blend of sonic influences, from the Strokes to Kanye West and Justice to Tatsuro Yamashita. A childhood of good playlists has informed the genre-bending music Gliiico has presented thus far. Although only a few years old, Gliiico has supported international acts such as lo-fi gods Khruangbin and Grammy award winning French band Phoenix on their Japan tours off the strength of their demos. They're debut EP, “The Oath" is out now. Gliiico(グリーコ)は、Kio、Kai、Nico de Torresの3兄弟からなるバンドだ。2021年に結成され、東京を拠点に活動している。The Strokes、Kanye West、Justiceや山下達郎など様々な音楽のエレメントと、幼少期に良い思い出として残っている楽曲が、Gliiicoがこれまで発表してきたジャンルを超えたオリジナリティ溢れる 音楽に大きな影響を与えている。 結成から3年目でまだEPのリリースもないが、既にグラミー受賞歴のあるフランスのバンド Phoenix(2023)や、アメリカのLo-FiバンドKhruangbin(2022)のジャパンツアーのオープニングアクトとして抜擢された。 今年、デビューEPとなる「The Oath」をリリース予定だ。
