The music of self-taught multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Charles Garant is driven by an ever-continual desire to be deliberately out of time and therefore timeless. A native of Quebec City, starting cello at age 4 before picking up guitar and drums at age 11, his formative years have wrought a single-minded vision of creating music in his own terms, playing all the instruments and self-producing. Over the course of three full-length albums, one EP and a dozen of singles, his alternative power pop signature fits among the Beatles’s pop legacy, resumed by the likes of Supertramp, Big Star and XTC.
