Lydia Froncek is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer whose love for collaboration, language and travel can be found at the heart of all her creative projects. At the age of 21, an interest in West African rhythm drew her to Senegal where she began a ten year intensive study of the talking drum. She now brings her world of experience to her solo project Lyd Marie with tracks ranging from afrobeat and neo-soul to folk americana and pop with stunning self produced visuals to match. A developed songwriter who has worked as a mentor with refugees, young mothers, war veterans and everyone in between, Lydia’s songs are defined by their honest vulnerability.
