Dear viewers, My passion for endoscopy and curiosity with the internet resulted in these Youtube videos. I hope to share interesting cases and learning points with you who have similar interests so that our patients can be the ultimate beneficiaries. The lessons from history are humbling. Endoscopy, like Medicine, is an art based on an imperfect and sometimes flawed science. We need to be critical of "eminence based" practices promoted by individuals, institutions and companies with their own bias or agenda. ERCP manometry and sphincterotomy for sphincter of Oddi dysfunction is/was performed for over two decades by "experts". For chronic pancreatitis endotherapy there is only one controlled trial (surgery versus endotherapy without placebo arm) after 25 years. It is quite incredible how free speech and eminence can combine to create diseases and perpetuate practices without solid evidence. Wishing everyone a Better and Safer Endoscopy for all our patients !
