Good luck finding an appropriate genre label for Teun Verbruggen’s music. Teun is a hyper talented drummer, who recorded a dozen of CD's and played in a dozen more local and international projects. He is owner of his own record label Rat Records, teacher at the Conservatorium Brussels and organiser of the Rat Events series. Teun first picked up the drums by the age of eight. After two summer courses with drummer Dre Pallemaerts he went to the Conservatory of Brussels where he was taught by Hans Van Oosterhout. Since graduation, he became in no time one of the most in demand sidemans in different bands and musical styles. His search for a personal touch and wanting to explore all possibilities of playing music and drums, his lack of boundaries and styles and trying to find fresh sounds and freedom in collective improvisation are only one of the reasons why.
