I was born at Clifton Memorial Hospital, an old converted house in the early 1960s.
I was taken home and raised at Clearbank Creek, a small farm near Back Plains, Queensland.
We raised sheep for a while, then beef cattle, then dairy cattle. We also had pigs, chickens, a single horse named Lady Fury, thousands of brown snakes, dozens of kangaroos and all the usual terrestrial suspects.
It was a weird upbringing. I thought it was weird even as it was happening to me and around me.
One of my uncles played guitar. Uncle Roger. He would play just for me. I thought it was the coolest thing out.
When I was 15 songs started coming into my head... and they've never stopped coming.
I've written more than 2000 songs already...
It was long ago and far away, I didn't know a stranger from the time of day,
