Blackwater Holylight is an all-female shoegaze-doom trio whose sound thrives in the tension between weight and fragility. Originally formed in Portland and now based in Los Angeles, the band was founded in 2016 by vocalist/bassist Allison “Sunny” Faris and has evolved into its current lineup with guitarist Mikayla Mayhew and drummer Eliese Dorsay. Their music is marked by towering riffs, dreamy and haunted vocal harmonies, and a deep undercurrent of heavy psychedelic influence. Beloved for their dynamic live performances and atmospheric sonic world, Blackwater Holylight returns in January 2026 with their fourth album, Not Here Not Gone, released by Suicide Squeeze Records.
