The Official youtube channel for Jumping With Axes Calgary AB, 2007: young musicians Derek Peck and Peter Marino dreamed of starting a band, the genre undetermined and the name still in the works they began their journey. It was in 2010 during their first and second years of University in Lethbridge AB that the duo decided on the name Jumping With Axes a primarily folk cover act that jumped at any chance to perform. But it was in 2011 that the duo became a full fledged band with the addition of 3 new members: Vanessa Adams (lead vocals and aux. percussion), Tony Sidewalk (Bass guitar, vocals, and sound tech.) and Julianna Peters (fiddle). In the following years Julianna and Tony would both leave the band for personal reasons. The three remaining members moved to Calgary and recruited Derek and Peters friend Kyle to play drums for them. They continue to work on writing more original music,booking live shows,and designing merch
