A Cape Verdean-American born in Boston and raised on the South Shore of Massachusetts. He started playing electric bass for a rock band in 9th grade. Studied Arranging and Composition at Berklee College of Music, Boston. Candido has performed with Grammy winning musical artists at many events around the U.S. including most recently at the 2020 Naples Winter Wine Festival at Campiello’s on 3rd Street Naples, FL. His son is the violin maker Marcus Bretto of Burlington, VT. Marcus Bretto earned his Certification as a violin maker from world renowned North Bennet Street School, Boston, MA in 2016.
