Healthy Hillsides is a social and environmental initiative designed to combat the devastating impact that wildfires have on the landscape, wildlife, and communities of the South Wales Valleys each year. Funded since 2021, Healthy Hillsides is steered by four partners; South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Natural Resources Wales, The Wildlife Trust for South and West Wales and Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council.
Championing a collaborative approach to wildfire management in the South Wales valleys, the project’s wider partnership includes a group of fifteen plus organisations who have an interest in reducing fires, reducing anti-social behaviour, improving ecology, and improving the health and wellbeing of people in the South Wales area.
