Waterflower is the alter-ego of multimedia artist Sabīne Moore. Drawing influences from nature, science and ecology, Waterflower creates eco-futuristic avant pop and digital hardcore. This is highlighted with their work with plants both as a composition tool and a “living” midi keyboard. Working entirely off the back of their visual arts and multimedia design education, Sabīne not only creates and produces their own music, but also uses Waterflower's visual imagery as a personal art platform.
The birth of Waterflower can be traced back to 2006, when, as the bedroom pop / noise act "Kroffork", they released their music for free on last.fm. Having their sound art online and heard by a small audience marked Sabīne as one of the first female solo acts in electronic music to appear in the local Latvian underground music scene.
