Jose is from Uruguay. He began studying piano at 8 and he started to study violoncello with Professor Pedro Laniella. Afterwards, he have continued his formal studies at the EUM obtaining his bachelor’s in 2015. He was pupil of Professor Stanimir Todorov, Roberto Martinez and Lucrecia Basaldúa. In addition, he studied jazz in Uruguay with Andres Bedó, Ricardo Nolé, Hugo Fatorusso and Ángel Varela. Nowadays, he won a full scholarship to attend LSU University in USA, doing his Doctorate in cello performance with Dennis Parker. He won one of the AMEXID full Scholarship for his master´s with Vladan Kočí in 2019. He works at Texarkana Symphony and Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestras since 2019 and has also worked at the OSSODRE (2012 2017) and was a professor of the in EUM (2013 2015). He was principal cellist of several orchestras around the world as MEC Chamber Orchestra, Academic Chamber Orchestra of Montevideo, the Latin American Philarmonic Chamber Orchestra and MEC Youth Orchestra.
