The Gateway Pacific Terminal (GPT) is a $665 million multi-commodity cargo handling facility proposed at Cherry Point in Ferndale, WA. This project will establish a new, highly-efficient shipping terminal to expand America's export capacity, while providing a major boost to the Pacific Northwest economy and family-wage jobs.Commodities handled will include coal, grain and potash. The GPT will create 4,400 jobs during the construction period and 1,250 once the terminal is operational. In addition, the terminal will generate millions of dollars in much-needed state and local tax revenues.
