This YouTube channel, the only one of its kind on the internet, is dedicated to a serious, scholarly, and yet approachable investigation of Indian history, culture, politics, and religion, and more broadly what may be called the inheritance of Indian civilization. However, there are also two courses on contemporary world history, covering the period from the Industrial Revolution to the present, as well as a course on the global Indian diaspora. All the lectures are neatly organized into playlists. For more advanced students and scholars, there is even a course (again, organized as a playlist) on the Politics of Knowledge in Colonial India, offered to PhD students and junior faculty as an intensive course in India some years ago, just as for those millions who love mainstream Indian cinema, there is a course on "Bollywood and Nationalism". Viewers are advised that the greater majority of the lectures were originally delivered as undergraduate courses at UCLA.
