Risto began learning the art form of Drum & Bass & sound shaping in 2012. Countless hours of devouring free how-to videos (Point Blank Music School, thank you.) and perseverance have allowed Risto to release his first set of tunes in 2016.
The story doesn't begin in 2012 however. Drum & Bass caught Risto's ear in the late 90's with the video for Roni Size / Reprazent's Brown Paper Bag. The BBC's Radio 1Xtra then became Risto's main source for all things Drum & Bass with the likes of DJ's Bailey, Fabio & Grooverider, L Double, and Flight.
Coming from a traditional instruments background, Risto began the D&B production journey in pursuit of something new, yet familiar. Plus, his ears could not handle playing live music anymore. Live cymbals are loud you know.
Risto's current influences include S.P.Y, DJ Marky, London Elektricity, Lenzman, Hybrid Minds, & many others. Not to mention classic Jungle.
