I am am a Speaker, Teacher and Researcher of Intersectionality , diversity, Inclusion and equity in the classroom. I have been teaching English for over 20 years, working within diversity rich settings and in areas of high deprivation, challenging the status quo and leading school improvement in adverse situations. My passion is creating inclusive settings for all students despite their backgrounds and starting points. My research uses an intersectional framework. Intersectionality refers to the social, economic, and political ways in which our multiple identities intersect to make us who we are. It also refers to the fact that what are often considered as dissimilar systems of subjugation are mutually dependent and intersecting in nature and together, they constitute an integrated system of oppression.
