Official YouTube channel for Spine Shatter. Spine Shatter, is a Chennai based groove metal band, formed in November 2014. It took Vishal Kr, the guitarist, 5 whole years of patient waiting to find the perfect members for his band. Things started out with Vishal and his brother Pranav Kumar Kr, the drummer of the band jamming regularly at home. Once Pranav completed his schooling, the brothers felt it was the right time to start looking for members to add to the band. Shiv Rekhi, the bassist, and the brothers met through a mutual friend. They started jamming and worked on original material. In search of a vocalist, the band made a post on social media through which Tushar Nayak got in touch with them. Looking for a heavier sound, the band felt the need for a second guitarist. Akshay Thyagarajan joined in to complete the lineup. The band started work on their EP during mid-February and released the EP on April 25th. They received highly positive feedback from the people.
