My name is Philipp Gawenda (Phil Gawen/stage name), which translates to Lover of horses and white hawk of the valley. I don't care much for horses and hawks regularly attack and eat the beautiful little birds on my property. Screw them! I was born in Oklahoma and raised in Germany, until I returned with my family at the age of 17; January 1981 to Brownsville/Texas. I began writing and composing music like a banshee and slowed down to a halt after I married in 1990. I re-recorded most of my songs between 2014 and 2018, and with advent of AI, started creating videos to compliment my music. After 9 Albums, I am finally assembling my 10th to be released before June. My songs are eclectic, so I am not defined by any genre. Each is an adventure of mine. Thanks to my writing buddies in the 1980s: Celsus Solar, Itzel Garcia Medina, and Jorge Garcia.
