Strange Fangs is the solo project of James Wright Glasgow, an American composer, recording artist, and producer residing in upstate New York. He has composed music for the world touring dance company Galumpha, commercial projects, and a number of universities including the RIT School of Film and Animation. He currently runs Strange Fangs Song Factory as a composition/songwriting business. In the wake of traumatic life events, Glasgow started writing and recording as Strange Fangs. “Defeat/Defy” is the first Strange Fangs album, to be released in 2016. These twelve songs were written and recorded on a “backpack studio” while traveling the east coast for three months, and mastered in LA by Ryan Meadows (The Revenant, Burnt). The album has been described as “Classical music, piano rock a la Andrew WK, and 8 bit dubstep having an orgy…” and “…angry and haunting.” Strange Fangs’ name comes from the bizarre and often harmful ways humans latch onto relationships, substances, and ideas.
