Andrea Ward is a contemporary dancer and choreographer based in Kingston, NY. After receiving her BFA in dance studies from the University of Florida, Andrea lived for many years as a choreographer in NYC. Since then, she has travelled to hold commissions in Montreal, Paris, London, Florence, Madrid, and Los Angeles. Her work for the Brussels Ways Training Program articulated an animal’s need for refuge, as a gesture of our own need for trust and disarmament. Andrea was commissioned by the Columbia Ballet Collaborative in NYC to create a work which expressed global humanitarianism. Her residency at the Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida incited ideas about personal evolution as a means of bridging the gap between privileged and disparate populations. Currently Andrea merges her choreography with her work as a musician, combining music and dance into one healing art.
