Ioanna Vrakatseli’s and Christos Marinos’s shared love for Art Song, alongside their island origins, gave birth to Duo Vocialo – a play with the Italian and Greek words voce, lalia and votsalo. Ιts aim is to perform and record rarely-heard works for voice and piano of the 20th and 21st centuries. By carefully choosing its repertoire, the Duo focuses on performing works mainly by Greek composers, men and women, and on creating original-themed recitals. The Duo has appeared at the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera, the “Lilian Voudouri” Music Library, the Porphyrogenis Cultural Center, the Athens Conservatoire and other venues in Greece. They regularly collaborate with the Thomas Tamvakos Archive of Greek Composers and the Giorgos Konstantzos Archive of Greek Music. They have given Greek premieres of works by Fairouz, Hall, Klein, Rautavaara, Ullmann, Gourzi, Harlafti a.o. and world premieres of works by Deli, Dragatakis, Sfiris, Terzakis, Tryferopoulou a.o.
