Kootenay Conservation Program (KCP) is a diverse network of over 95 organizations, First Nations, and other levels of government, working together for connected habitats and landscapes in the Kootenays that sustain biodiversity and naturally functioning resilient ecosystems, which in turn support community well-being.
KCP’s collaborative approach builds the capacity of our partners and can help us find win-win solutions to ecosystem conservation on private lands.
KCP respectfully acknowledges our work and lives are situated in the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Ktunaxa, Secwépemc, Sinixt, and Syilx Okanagan peoples who have stewarded this land, water and all living things since time immemorial, and whose values and culture continue to inspire and guide stewardship of this region.
