I wrote my first song at the age of 65. Now I know that’s not how most people do it but it’s the way I started. I am a veteran and retired career firefighter from Houston Texas. I am a husband, father and grandfather. When Old Glory Passes By was the first song I wrote and I wrote it while driving home after spending the Fourth of July weekend in Leakey Texas with my family. I am passionate about my love for old school country music and the need for people to preserve it for future generations. Real country music will only last as long as people with a passion write and record new music. I am trying to add my small piece to that effort. Country music is the music of the common man and is full of the stories of life. Stories of heartbreak, hard times and hard lives. You have to live it before you can write it. For that reason I only write about things I have lived and know. I will be adding songs that I write periodically and will add some other music that I like. Thanks for listening.
