AMAMJAUBB began in 1998 on Amami-Oshima as a project led by composer Yasato, later joined by vocalist Novo.
While continuing to live on Amami Island, they have released recordings and performed both in Japan and abroad. In recent years, their activities have expanded to include music for video works and collaborations with independent magazines.
Their modes of expression remain fluid, continuously shifting across multiple concepts and practices. These include Sundayized Electric Music (SEM), inspired by the unique psychological sensations associated with Sundays; Tarang-Wah-Sessions, a space-constrained live set named after the Thai unit of area equivalent to four square meters; and ASK-ABC-Sessions, a live performance format centered around keyboards and drums.
Novo’s voice is said to induce intense drowsiness.
AMAMJAUBB believes that getting lost among countless paths is the way to reach music’s Shangri-la.
