From the ashes of Northern California’s Arcade Rebellion, comes the post-hardcore phoenix, gasp. (stylized as all lowercase and a period at the end). When vocalist/guitarist Daniel decided that he wanted a more driving, aggressive sound for his creative aspirations, he was soon met with drummer Jeremy, bassist Austin, and guitarist Greg from the depths of the internet. After a few practices were had and even more beers consumed, it was suggested that the two projects form together to make one main creative outlet. Months passed, skills were honed, and eventually a name was decided upon. What makes gasp. a unique addition to the blossoming Portland music scene is the fluidity and amalgamation of each member’s individual tastes and styles to create a unified, raw and unfiltered sound. Perfectly chaotic and messily melodic, gasp. has a little bit of something for everyone who wants to immerse themselves into the onslaught of sound.
