ART ROOTS MAMBÍ is a Lili Bernard & Alberto Lescay family project building bridges between artists in Santiago de Cuba and Los Angeles, California, empowering both communities. The project provides humanitarian aid and free promotion to artists living in the economic crisis in Santiago de Cuba, in support of the city's post-COVID recovery efforts. Through cultural exchange and collaborative art projects, Art Roots Mambí fosters interpersonal relationships between artists and creatives in the two cities. American artists who travel to Santiago de Cuba to present their creative works, in collaboration with Santiago de Cuba artists and art organizations, transport food, living items and work materials donated to the Cuban artists in need. Another phase of the project involves hosting artists from Santiago de Cuba in Los Angeles, to present their creative works in collaboration with artists and art organizations in Los Angeles.
