The Chipperton Tramway Company is the name of what will hopefully be a future private 7 1/4" tramway located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. Why a tramway and not a railway? Well, the term tramway was originally given to lines that were lightly laid and, most importantly for us, privately owned. Because this railway won't be open to the public we decided to refer to it as a tramway. But, that doesn't mean we want to hide away! This channel will give us the opportunity to share our progress with the building of locos, carriages and eventually the tramway itself. From time to time, we may also share videos of other trains around South Australia. We hope you enjoy!
