The story of my singing began when I was very small and very shy. Because I was afraid to speak, I began to write... and later, because I wanted other people to hear my words, I began to sing. The songs I write tell you about who I am. Each song comes from a strong feeling, and because that was how it was created the feeling never gets lost: however many times I sing it, however many different versions I create, the feeling is still there. For as long as I can remember I have been aware of a sense of longing. Sometimes it feels like a beautiful thing; sometimes it hurts...certainly it is something that pulls me forwards, always searching for love, for connection, for new experiences. A lot of my songs come from that sense of longing, though some are simply expressions of joy, or of humour.
