The Boston University Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences (CDS) is the exciting future of a ubiquitous field. CDS is an academic unit made of scholars in core and applied areas of computing, computational, and data-driven inquiry who engage in multidisciplinary collaborations across academic disciplines at BU. Founded in 2019 and housed in an iconic 19-story building to be completed in 2022, CDS complements and connects various academic disciplines through the language of computation and data. We are laying the foundation for promoting societally-minded computing through mission-driven Impact Labs that act as catalysts for maximizing the real-world impact of its research, curricular, and cocurricular programs—most notably on issues of Equity, Sustainability, Health, and Civic Tech!
